Top 3 Reasons You Need a Personal Branding Photoshoot

April 18, 2019 By Chrysti Tovani

Creating a unique personal brand and identity for your business involves a lot of thought, time, and ingenuity. Your brand is what communicates who you are to your audience and what sets you apart from the competition. So every detail counts, from your website to your logo to your photos. It’s crucial to put your best face forward — both figuratively and literally.

Personal brand photography will portray your unique look, personality, and position to your audience. Here are the top three reasons why you need a professional personal branding photoshoot:

  1. It helps build trust
Thoughtful, professional personal brand photos will help build trust and form a connection with prospective clients and employers right away. If your photos make you look like a friendly, capable, experienced professional they’d enjoy working with, they’ll work with you! On the other hand, if you use incohesive, low-quality photos throughout your site, they might look elsewhere.

  2. It captures the best version of yourself
Personal brand photography gives you the power to make sure the world sees the best version of yourself. Leave capturing your look and your essence to a professional photographer who knows how to make you shine and can tell a story with the camera.

  3. It’ll give you some amazing photos Sure, personal branding photos will be useful for your site and marketing materials — but they’ll also be a gorgeous, accurate depiction of your most authentic self. You’ll love having extra content to post on social media and to send over whenever someone asks for a recent photo.

Personal brand photography helps communicate what you have to offer to potential clients. It helps your audience connect with you as a person and feel comfortable with you right away, inviting them to engage with you and work with you. In the end, a personal branding photoshoot is a crucial investment for any creator, influencer, or business owner looking to portray their image in the best light.

Why Personal Branding Photography is a Must for Entrepreneurs

April 18, 2019 By Chrysti Tovani

Visuals play a crucial role in how you portray your personal brand to your customers and clients. It’s important to remember that customers shop with their eyes and will often make decisions based on their first impression of someone.

Personal branding involves influencing the way potential customers see you and view your products or services, which is why personal branding photography can have such a massive impact. Professional photos are an asset and will serve you for years to come. Here are a few of the ways that you would benefit from taking professional personal branding photos.

  • Send them with your press releases. If you usually send out press releases or are planning to in the coming year, professional photos will help your submission stand out.
  • Use them throughout your website. Businesses that feature professional photos of real people inspire more trust than those that use stock photos. Real photos also help tell your business story more authentically. At the very least, you should always have a professional headshot on your website so that potential customers know who they are doing business with.
  • Place them in your email campaigns. Take your email blasts to the next level by including your photo in them.
  • Include them on your landing pages. If you rely on landing pages to help you generate sales, adding personal branding photography to them can boost your results.
  • Create a killer bio for events. Speaking at an upcoming event? Make sure that you have a professional headshot and branding photos on hand to send along with your bio.
  • Make your email signature memorable. Not everybody remembers a name but almost everyone can recall a face. Adding a photo to your email signature can make it more memorable.
  • Add them to your printed marketing materials. If you print your marketing materials on a regular basis, a photo can be used to make your brochures and business cards stand out.
  • Save time. When you’re approached by a publisher, you want to have a professional photo that you approve of on hand. When you rely on publications to take your photos, you need to rely on their photographers, many of which are students. This is your personal brand and you should have the final say in whom takes your photos. You also save time in the sense that you don’t need to take additional time out of your day for the photos because you’ll already have them at your disposal.

Remember to refresh your photos often so that your personal brand is also reflected accurately.

How to Prepare for Your Personal Branding Photoshoot

April 18, 2019 By Chrysti Tovani

Whether you’re a freelancer, an influencer, or a small business owner, creating an authentic personal brand is crucial to your success and growth. Your personal brand is what sets you apart from all the rest and what keeps people coming back to you again and again. There’s so much that goes into creating a gorgeous personal brand, but your personal brand photos should be at the forefront of your mind. Here are a few ways you can get the most out of your personal brand photoshoot:

  1. Write down your story
Create a strong personal connection with your audience by telling them a story. Take a moment to write down who you are, why you do what you do, and what you have to offer potential clients. Building your personal brand isn’t about putting on a new personality — it’s about sharing the things that make you uniquely you in a calculated, beautiful way.

  2. Come up with a vision
What describes your personal brand? What do you want your personal brand to look like? Is it bright, fun, young, quirky, and refreshing? Artistic, moody, minimalist, cool, and enigmatic? Professional, sophisticated, intelligent, trustworthy, and revolutionary? Think about those things first before moving forward.

  3. Consult with your photographer
Let your photographer in on your vision for your photoshoot and for your brand itself. Make sure your photographer understands your story, your values, your image, and your personality. That way, your photographer will be able to prepare as well — choosing location, light, and shooting style accordingly.

  4. Look your best
Consider hiring a professional hair/makeup artist for your personal brand photoshoot. A pro will be able to help you really shine in front of the camera and accentuate your best features, all while making sure you come across the way you want to. When it comes to wardrobe, choose an outfit that will make you feel confident and assist in telling the story of who you are.

Once you’ve done the work to know the story you’re trying to tell and the vision you’re striving to create, your personal brand photoshoot will fit right into place. If you feel prepared, confident, capable, and beautiful, all of those qualities will shine through in your photos and help refine your brand.
